Description
Design, implementation, management, and optimization of databases that support critical business applications. This role ensures the integrity, performance, and security of databases while leading database development initiatives and collaborating with various teams to drive data-related projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement scalable, secure and high-performance
databases that meet business and technical requirements.
• Manage database systems including backup, recovery, security, and
performance tuning.
• Participate in database migrations and upgrades, ensuring minimal
downtime and seamless transitions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, implementing solutions to
improve reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs
and translate them into database solutions.
• Stay current with the latest database technologies and trends,
evaluating their applicability and value to the organization.
• Develop and maintain database documentation, including
architecture, design, and processes.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, information technology
or any related field.
• 7+ years of experience in database engineering, with hands-on
experience in relational (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL
(e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) database systems.
• Proficiency in database design, optimization, and performance
tuning.
• Experience with database backup and recovery strategies, as well as
disaster recovery planning.
• Understanding of data security best practices, encryption methods,
and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS).
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex
database issues.
• Experience with database monitoring and management tools.
